A Shoreditch landmark, refreshed

To mark its 20th anniversary, The Hoxton Shoreditch underwent a comprehensive interiors refresh, with County appointed to deliver the successful refurbishment of the original hotel.

Located in one of London’s most vibrant and creative neighbourhoods, the hotel is surrounded by renowned street art, acclaimed restaurants, and destination boutiques, all within walking distance.

The project included the refurbishment of 208 guest bedrooms, featuring a complete remodel of the sixth-floor concept rooms, alongside a combination of full bedroom upgrades and both full and partial bathroom refurbishments.

Crucially, all works were delivered while the hotel remained fully operational, maintaining maximum room availability throughout the programme ensuring minimal disruption to guests and day-to-day operations.

Design rooted in local character

In addition, County successfully delivered the refurbishment of the hotel’s apartments (meeting and function rooms), as well as the transformation of the reception foyer, lounge, and entrance lobby.

The redesign, led by Ennismore’s in-house design team, Aime Studios, draws inspiration from Shoreditch’s rich creative heritage. Industrial elements such as galvanised metals and exposed conduit reference the area’s warehouse past, while bold colours reflect its dynamic street art and flyposting culture. Carefully selected textiles and timber finishes pay homage to traditional local crafts, including silk weaving and woodworking.
