SCOPE
Successfully delivering our two-phase refurbishment, County Contractors demonstrated strong hospitality expertise and a deep understanding of guest expectations, transforming the Royal Garden Hotel to elevate and redefine a truly five-star luxury experience.”
A heritage icon, thoughtfully renewed
Opened in 1965, the Royal Garden Hotel has long been synonymous with refined elegance and distinguished heritage. From hosting the official reception for England’s 1966 World Cup victory to becoming a staple of High Street Kensington, it remains one of London’s most recognisable destinations—overlooking Kensington Palace Gardens.
Following the Covid-19 pandemic, we delivered an extensive bedroom refurbishment across the hotel, carefully phased to maintain uninterrupted service. Completed in two stages, the works allowed both wings to be upgraded efficiently while preserving the experience guests return for time and again.

Calm, contemporary design in every detail
The refurbishment reimagined bedrooms and suites across ten floors in each wing, alongside upgraded corridors and lift lobbies. The design approach focused on creating calm, balanced interiors—where natural light, clean lines, and a refined material palette allow the surrounding parkland to take centre stage.
Inside each room, layered textures and crafted finishes bring warmth and depth. Oak herringbone flooring, bespoke wool rugs, and handcrafted raffia wall panels are paired with grey-stained joinery and subtle bronze detailing. The result is a collection of spaces that feel quietly luxurious, offering guests a sense of comfort, clarity, and connection to their setting.
