SCOPE
Following a structural assessment, the existing timber staircase was deemed unsafe and removed from service. As the staircase formed part of a key fire escape route, its closure created operational and compliance challenges for the client, requiring temporary amendments to the site's fire strategy.
County Contractors was appointed to dismantle and remove the existing structure and deliver a replacement staircase in accordance with approved designs and local authority requirements. Working closely with the client and project stakeholders, we installed a new steel spiral staircase that restored safe access and reinstated the essential escape route.
The new design not only addressed the immediate safety requirements but also provided a durable, low-maintenance solution, reducing ongoing upkeep while ensuring the asset remains functional and serviceable for years to come.
