County Contractors has been working with A S Watson on their annual refurbishment programmes for over 8 years. Refits are designed to bring all stores up to their current and ever changing design standards.

Generally, the re-fit schemes involve layout changes, new flooring, till moves and replacements, cosmetic stand installations, ceilings, decorations, shopfront works, signage and electrical works.

Over the years we have gained knowledge and experience of the client requirements and are able to work closely with the project managers offering solutions on delivery and value. The stores remain open for the duration of the re-fits so works are undertaken overnight usually within an extremely challenging programme. Flexibility and the ability to react are key to the delivery. We are responsible for the coordination of and attendance of A S Watson direct contractors for delivery and health and safety.

New stores generally involve the total fit out of a clean shell typically with 3 – 4 weeks programmes. Store locations are often in high street situations where storage space and access are restricted or difficult. These schemes include construction of partitions, flooring, ceilings, installation of shopfittings, decorations, new shopfronts, signage, electrical and mechanical installations. Again co-ordination of A S Watson direct sub contractors is required.

“AS Watson have been working continuously with County Contractors for over 8 years across the South of England on a variety of new stores, refits and cosmetic installations. They approach every project with enthusiasm and a determination to deliver to the client’s vision. They have aided us in updating our specification throughout the years and streamlining on site methods through new ways of thinking, helping us to reduce costs and deliver on programme.”
