The project comprised a major office refurbishment in the National Probation Service's main administration building in central Bristol.

Client:   National Probation Service
Value:   £1m
PM/QS: Bath & North East Somerset

Each floor was decanted and arrangements made for staff to temporarily relocate whilst the works progressed. This level of planning was critical to the delivery and key success of the project.

The project encompassed the formation of an open plan office environment over four floors, individual management offices and high security meeting rooms with the latest technological monitoring systems and was handed over within an 18 week timeframe.

A new electrical sub-main was introduced, LV distribution upgraded to accommodate the refurbishment and layout changes and new general power, lighting, data, fire (detection and sprinkler) and intruder (CCTV) systems installed. Passenger lifts were overhauled.

An air handling unit was supplied and installed onto the main roof of the office block to serve a new VRF and heat recovery system.

Demountable partitioning was installed to create new offices together with suspended ceilings and specialist bespoke joinery. Decorations were carried out throughout.

Public and staff toilets were refurbished and a new staircase was installed serving ground to first floor levels.
